Muslim Intention Review Niyyah Guide

Use case

Prayer routines, charity, study, volunteering, work, family duties and public service

Main check

Before motive, during drift, after praise, private deeds and repair after harm

Best time

Before starting a meaningful action, during long work and after receiving attention

Boundary

Does not judge hearts, issue fatwa, replace fiqh study or decide worship validity

Intention review keeps action from becoming performance. Quran 98:5 points to sincere devotion, Quran 39:2 calls for religion sincerely for Allah, Quran 76:9 describes giving without seeking reward or thanks from people, and Quran 18:110 joins righteous action with not associating anyone in worship of the Lord.

This guide is a practical niyyah review, not a technical ruling. Before an action, ask why it matters. During the action, notice whether praise, anger or comparison is taking over. After the action, return credit to Allah, repair harm if needed, and keep private deeds private when that protects sincerity.

This page does not decide the legal validity of worship, replace fiqh study, issue a fatwa or judge another person's heart. It is a daily self-check for sincerity in ordinary acts of worship, service, learning and responsibility.

FAQ

Is this a fiqh guide to niyyah?

No. It is a reflection checklist for sincerity in everyday actions. Questions about the validity of prayer, fasting or other worship should be taken to qualified sources.

Should I repeat the review many times?

Keep it light and practical. A short pause before and after an action is usually enough. If review becomes obsessive distress, seek qualified pastoral or clinical support.

Can intention review help with public service?

Yes. It can keep service from becoming status-seeking, resentment or comparison. Pair it with clear duties, good planning and accountability.
